If you are interested in wireless communication, digital signal processing, machine learning, and optimization, you have a strong mathematical background, and you are interested in developing algorithms and very large-scale integrated (VLSI) circuits and systems, field-programmable gate-array (FPGA) prototypes, and graphics processing unit (GPU) implementations, then you might be a perfect fit for the IIP Group. If you are already a student at ETH Zürich and interested in one of our research areas, then it is highly recommended to first do a B.S. and M.S. Thesis project with our group prior to applying for a Ph.D. position. In case you are an external student planning to apply to ETH Zürich and interested in joining the group, then make sure you are aware of the ETH rules. In case you want to increase the chances of us looking at your application, please send an e-mail to Prof. Studer that clearly states why you want to join the IIP Group and why we should be interested in working with you. Also, ensure that the subject of your e-mail reads "Prospective IIP student." All other application e-mails will be ignored.
