Our Big Fourier Oscillator (BFO) sound synthesis ASIC is back from fabrication!

ETH students Domenic Keller und Jonas Roth designed an 8-voice oscillator ASIC for digital sound synthesis that is 100% aliasing free.

The BFO chip is able to generate eight aliasing-free voices simultaneously and each voice can generate classical analog synthesizer waveforms (e.g., sawtooth, square, sine, triangle, etc.), arbitrary wavetable sounds, and additive synthesis waveforms. We are looking forward to testing it. Eventually, the chip will be integrated into our hardware synthesizer. Stay tuned!
