Paper on CSI-Based Multi-Antenna and Multi-Point Indoor Positioning published in the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications!

Congratulations to Emre Gönültaş for the acceptance of his paper in the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications.

positioning
Ground-truth locations (a) and estimated locations (b) for a multi-point line-of-sight living-room scenario with two four-antenna access points and two transmit antennas at the user side. Our positioning pipeline achieves a mean distance error of 3.7cm.

The paper "CSI-Based Multi-Antenna and Multi-Point Indoor Positioning Using Probability Fusion" proposes a novel indoor positioning pipeline for wireless LAN MIMO-OFDM systems, which processes uplink channel state information (CSI) measurements at one or more access points (APs). We provide experimental results with real-world indoor measurements under line-of-sight (LoS) and non-LoS propagation conditions. Our results show that centimeter-level accuracy is possible indoors under line-of-sight (LoS) as well as non-LoS propagation conditions. The paper has been co-authored with Eric Lei, Jack Langerman, Howard Huang, and Prof. Christoph Studer and appeared as an early-access version in the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. You can find a preprint of the paper on external page arXiv
