EZ130 8T: 8-Track Library for IHP SG13G2

Table of Contents

Overview

The EZ130 8T library was created by the first cohort of the "VLSI 5: Design of a Standard-Cell Library" course, taught in Spring of 2025. It contains 220 cells designed for the external page IHP 130nm open SG13G2 PDK and a track height of 8 tracks (3.36µm). You can see a list of the available cells and their technical specifications here.

The EZ130 8T library has already been used to tape out more than 10 chips, many of them designed by our students as part of the "VLSI 2" course. EZ130 8T uses 33% lower area and energy than the default standard-cell library distributed with the SG13G2 PDK; more details about this comparison in our external page arXiv paper. So the next time you are taping out with IHP 130nm, make it EZ!

By downloading the EZ130 8T library, you agree to the terms of the external page Apache 2.0 license. The EZ130 8T library is distributed as is.

Acknowledgments

We thank Cadence for their generous support by providing us with licenses to design and characterize the EZ130 8T library. We also thank H. Pretl, T. Benz, and P. Sauter for their feedback on preliminary versions of the EZ130 8T library.
